Central Lonsdale is an integral part of the City of North Vancouver, and nestled between Keith Road and the Upper Levels Highway (Trans-Canada Highway 1) to the north, and between Forbes and Moody Avenues. Bus service along Lonsdale brings residents quickly to the SeaBus and to Vancouver Shopping There are a wide range of shops, services and restaurants along Lonsdale Avenue, the main shopping street in North Vancouver. Five minutes by car, takes you to either the Westview Shopping Centre, or to Capilano Mall, both located to the west of the area Schools The neighbourhood is served by Lonsdale Elementary, Queen Mary Community School, Ridgeway Elementary schools, as well as Carson Graham Secondary, with a public library located on Keith Rd. Recreation The community is built around the pretty Victoria Park. This neighbourhood is home to the Centennial Theatre and the indoor pool at the Harry Jenkins Rec Centre, and a lawn bowling club. The neighbourhood has a good mix of "character" homes, some newer homes, along with many apartment buildings and townhouses. The apartment buildings are located on or close to Lonsdale up to 17th Street. The area's older post-war bungalows are being replaced by new concrete high-rise apartment and condo buildings, as well as modern townhouses and duplexes.
