  • Richview, between Eglinton and the east-west Dixon Rd, and west of Royal York Rd, is a park-filled neighbourhood that is home to diverse range of incomes and cultural backgrounds. The neighbourhood also has good access to shopping and major transportation routes, and just minutes from Pearson International Airport. Richview has been so-named since the area's post office opened back in 1852, and was a dairy farming area until they were developed in the 1950s. Richview has two main neighbourhoods: "Royal York Gardens" lies between Royal York Road and Islington Avenue and "Richmond Gardens" between Islington Avenue & Kipling.

    Motorists can access the east-west 401 at Martingrove Road or at Islington Avenue. TTC bus service along Eglinton Avenue connects to Eglinton West station (Yonge-University-Spadina subway) and The Westway, and Dixon Road connect to the Lawrence West station (Yonge-University-Spadina subway). The Islington bus connects to Islington Station (Bloor-Danforth subway), and the Kipling Avenue bus connects to the Kipling station (Bloor-Danforth subway) with connections. From Kipling station, you can connect to GO Transit, the Pearson Airport express bus service, and to the Mississauga Transit system.

    Schools
    This area is served by 5 public elementary schools, 5 Catholic elementary schools, and 3 public high schools and a public library.

    Shopping
    Highrises at Weston & St Phillips The area is well served with shopping centres at Richview Square(Eglinton Avenue 7 Wincott Drive), Martingrove Plaza (Martingrove Road & The Westway), Westway Centre (Kipling Avenue & Dixon Road), and a plaza at 1500 Royal York Road.

    Recreation
    The community is laced with parks, with 3 indoor ice arenas, 3 outdoor pools, and is adjacent to the Weston Golf & Country Club to the north and St George's to the south. The smaller parks also have sports fields, baseball diamonds, tennis courts and a children's playground. Sun Row Park, in the NE part of Richview, has an interpretive nature trail along the Humber River, with access to the bicycle trail along Eglinton Avenue and the paved South Humber trail which continues south to Toronto's waterfront. Heritage homes in the area include the former Dixon homestead (1671 Kipling Avenue), and the former La Rose homestead (322 La Rose Avenue).

    Homes
    Homes are mainly 1950s and 1960s ranch and contemporary-style bungalows, split-levels, and Georgian Revival style houses, typically with forty, fifty, or sixty foot frontages. Most homes have a private drive and garages, and many are on or close to ravines or parkland. You can also find a number of new townhouse and condominium projects along its main thoroughfares. Those wishing to rent can find rental apartment buildings and row-houses along main thoroughfares at the edge of the neighbourhood. Housing here is in the low to mid price ranges.
